Working in an industry that never slows down has its ups and downs. One of those ups is discovering niche industry blogs dedicated to marketing different types of products and services.

Today’s marketing landscape is constantly evolving and changing, making it difficult to keep up with the latest trends, news, and tactics. Working at a content marketing agency that services clients in various marketplaces has opened my eyes to the world of niche blogging. Every industry has a blog, and most have many blogs. Servicing clients in varying spaces from consumer electronics, pro audio equipment, and even food and beverage lends itself to discovering fantastic blogs.

I would say that in the average day I read well over 30 blogs covering almost any topic you could think of. I read blogs to help aggregate content for social media posts, blog posts, and even to draw inspiration to try new marketing tactics. Check out some of my favorite marketing blogs below!

1. Social Media Today (SMT)

SMT is my go-to source for all of the latest info on social media. SMT has relevant, timely content written by industry experts who know what they’re talking about. SMT is also a great source for how-to and best practices guides for professional social media specialists. SMT isn’t necessarily a niche marketing blog, but it often highlights trends in certain industries.

2. rAVe BlogSquad

This AV (audio-visual) industry blog is a must-read if your agency services clients in the field since various AV experts on the BlogSquad contribute. The AV industry generates $78 Billion a year, so you better believe this blog is filled with great information that you can use to provide your client with top-notch service. Simply knowing about the industry and your client’s competitors will help your marketing strategy in the long run.

3. Twice

Twice is a blog dedicated to the consumer electronics industry, and has inside information about the latest products, company mergers and acquisitions, and retail statistics. Not only does the consumer electronics industry have one of the biggest trade shows in the world, it also has one of the best blogs. Twice is a very comprehensive site with tons of resources like case studies and research materials available for free and for purchase.

4. Chief Marketing Technologist Blog

Chief Marketing Technologist Blog is a recent find and a new favorite. As digital marketers, we are well aware of evolving technology and how it is going to change how we do our jobs. This blog helps marketers understand new technology and how we will be able to use it to deliver content, conduct market research, and maybe even help us automate many tasks. Author Scott Brinker has a BS in computer science from Columbia University, a MBA from MIT, and Master’s degree in computer science from Harvard. It’s safe to say that Scott knows technology. Here’s a term you should familiarize yourself with: agile marketing.

5. M4B Marketing

M4B Marketing is a digital marketing blog that takes an approach that is certainly not the industry norm: simplicity. This blog exists to help businesses market themselves by taking a step back and looking at the big picture. Simplicity is often missing from most businesses’ marketing plans, and this blog aims to help businesses grow by simplifying marketing.

BONUS: Burger Business

Burger Business is one of my favorite niche marketing blogs simply because it’s about burgers. While I don’t work with any clients in this industry, I am a huge fan of burgers, and it’s fascinating to see all of the science and research that goes into decisions made by hamburger restaurants. Knowing what’s on the horizon for many popular restaurants is the coolest part. For instance, Wendy’s is testing a BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich to appeal to millennials. Yum.

Blogs are so ubiquitous among marketers that it makes me wonder what industry pros were reading every morning 20 years ago. Dare I say they read a newspaper?
