Instafame on Instagram

As most people know, social media is a great way to spread the word about your brand. Whether that brand is your business, your product or yourself, personal engagement is the best form of advertising.

Not only is it cost-effective, but also the reach to your audience is constantly advancing. Most brands have molded to society’s need for consumption via social media through Facebook, Twitter and Google+, but my personal favorite is Instagram.

As a social media marketing agency we here at lotus823 understand the importance of social media and the impact that it can have on a brand. It can grow your brand immensely when utilized to it’s fullest potential. We’ve done the research, and we’ve seen the results.

We’ve found that posts on social media receive the most engagement when they are short, sweet, and aesthetically pleasing. Most consumers enjoy links, lists and photos. This is no different for Instagram users. A great photo paired with industry-related hashtags can make all the difference when growing your brand.

Instagram is a great social media platform to connect with your audience through engagement. According to Social Media Examiner’s “26 Tips for Using Instagram for Business”, Debbie Hernley suggests balancing fun images with pictures from your business. This way you are able to promote your brand or specific product to your followers, while also engaging with them on a personal level. Sharing common interests will not only strengthen your consumer relationships, but can also gain new customers.

With that being said, I would like to share with you a few of my favorite brands to follow on Instagram and why their social media marketing tactics work.

Alex and Ani

This is a great brand to follow on Instagram because they post frequently and they are fun to engage with! Whether it be a new bracelet, bangle of the month or a repost of one of their follower’s photos, Alex and Ani knows how to keep their posts exciting and original.

Essie

This iconic beauty brand is famously known for their nail polish and they are no stranger to the social media world. Essie is an ideal Instagram account for users who love to stay with the latest nail trends and colors. They provide bright photos such as this one, promote new collections and offer insight to the inspiration behind their work.

Tiffany & Co.

This account utilizes their signature “tiffany blue” in almost every photo uploaded- that is what I call strategic branding. Before followers even take a look at the product being featured in the photo, they are already aware that they are viewing a Tiffany & Co. product just by the background color. This account posts frequently, keeping holidays and celebrity features in mind.

Oreo

I follow this brand on Instagram solely because of how creative their posts are. Oreo is always finding clever ways to incorporate their signature cookie into photos and videos. Whether it’s part of a beautiful sunflower or the belly of a snowman, Oreo keeps their posts fun and unique.

DailyPuppy

I follow this Instagram account for obvious reasons. Who wouldn’t have their day brightened by spotting an adorable animal in their Instagram feed? I’m delighted when these little guys are posted and I am more than likely going to “like” the photo. Often times, I will also share the photos with my friends by tagging them in a comment, so a wider audience can see them and your brand.

I hope you enjoyed a few of my favorite accounts and how they do Instagram marketing well. Now get out there and start sharing your brand on Instagram! There’s a whole social media network waiting to see your photos and videos.

More than fifteen years ago, I took a leap of faith and founded lotus823, guiding its vision and strategy with my husband as a supportive business partner. What started as an idea has grown into a thriving integrated marketing agency in New Jersey, built on strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a leadership philosophy that...

Micro vs Macro Influencers: Who Drives Better Results Micro vs Macro Influencers: Who Drives Better Results

by Nick Walsack

For a long time, the influencer marketing methodology has been to select creators based on how large their following is. But as an industry, we have matured, and so has our strategy. As brands continue to increase investments into creator partnerships, the question of micro vs. macro influencers becomes increasingly pertinent. Brands are reevaluating and...

Breaking news: the internet thrives on nostalgia.  So much of the content that dominates the TikTok sphere plays off a love for the past. Tying a comedy sketch, fashion trend, or even business strategy to something popular 15 years ago is something that has proven to be successful in a lot of cases. It’s something...

Building Community Over Followers: The New Social KPI Building Community Over Followers: The New Social KPI

by Ellen Cockrell

May 4, 2026

In the early days of social media, there was one metric that indicated success: follower count. Brands, creators, and businesses chased big numbers, believing that scale alone translated into impact. But today, that equation is shifting. Audiences are more discerning, algorithms are more complex, and attention is more fragmented than ever. A large following might...
