Fusing tech innovations, developing trends, and insights, CE Week is the consumer technology industry’s largest event in the North East. Expanding this year to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, CE Week is the ideal place to establish key partnerships and stand out in the ever-evolving consumer tech space.
In 2018, CE Week is debuting its new cooperation with IFA, designed to amplify relationships between buyers, sellers, and consumers. This partnership expands the show’s audience, which was previously “media only”. This year, CE Week aims to draw an international audience as it presents new opportunities to buyers, distributors, and even the media.
This CE Week, there will be a wide range of brands offering everything in software and 3D printing to VR & AR technologies, smart home products, and more. CE Week is the place for consumer technology companies to be, June 20th through the 21st, and we have some tips to held your brand succeed.
Plan Ahead
As a company attending CE Week, a key goal should be to meet with buyers in addition to meeting with media. To secure meetings with certain buyers, be sure to reach out and set up appointments in advance. This is a targeted show, so remember you will be encountering more localized media.
Strategize Social
Making your company’s voice heard is half the battle. Implement a social strategy for the event that leverages all of your social platforms, especially Twitter as it is the best place to be seen amongst other attendees. Plan out content and schedule ahead so that you will always be involved in the conversation, but don’t forget to live tweet any exciting updates with their event hashtag, #CEWeekNY.
Make Your Presence Known
Informing the media of your CE Week attendance will help generate buzz. You may even be able to secure an interview with media outlets if you pitch them properly with engaging information about your brand’s presence and activities at the event.. Sending out a company press release on your attendance can also aid in garnering attention.
Come Prepared
Due to the size of the show, you will have more opportunities with buyers and fellow exhibitors, which gives you plenty of room to network. Ensure you and your team are groomed with talking points and questions that will make your company worth remembering.
Be Involved
Take advantage of the numerous opportunities CE Week presents. Show organizers offer showcasing and speaking opportunities in addition to media events—be sure to leverage these.
Follow Up
You will likely meet with a multitude of buyers and new media contacts. It is important to follow up with them to further develop relationships and gain press exposure.
