While the words “Jersey Shore” may take on different meanings depending on who you ask, the shore holds a special place in lotus823’s heart. As our office is located only five miles away from the beach, you can find any one of us down the shore on the weekends soaking up the sun. Below you can read all about our favorite memories from over the years:
If you know me, you know I spend almost every weekend in the summer at D’jais. As the “Original Jersey Shore Dance Club,” D’jais never disappoints. Between happy hours, theme nights, birthday parties, amazing music & lighting, and (most importantly) dance contests, it’s always a good time. Pictured below are some of the hats and t-shirts I have earned by winning dance contests at D’jais over the course of last summer and the start of this summer… aka my pride and joy. It doesn’t feel like a Jersey Shore summer until I find myself on stage at D’jais.

My favorite place to spend time in the summer is the beach, of course! I grew up near the beach, so some of my best and earliest memories include playing in the waves and having full beach days with family and friends.

Growing up on the Jersey Shore, what I love most is how “the Shore” is made up of many different parts, each unique in their own way. From spending weekends down in LBI filled with mini golf, paddle boarding, and boating to having nights out in Belmar with friends, the Jersey Shore has something for everyone.

As a child living at the Jersey Shore, I have such fond memories of my grandparents taking us to Seaside Heights and spoiling us as we played countless boardwalk games for prizes and overindulged in boardwalk food. The smell of the tarred boards, mixed with the aroma of French fries and sausage and peppers was heavenly and can only be experienced at the shore. Smelling those same aromas today fills me with a rush of nostalgia. Tip: Every visit requires a final stop at a Kohr’s for vanilla and orange custard.

I was born and raised at the Jersey Shore, so some of my best memories at “the Shore” are from spending time during the off-season at the boardwalk – while the tourists weren’t around! When I was a kid, my dad would take me to the Seaside Heights boardwalk in the wintertime and we would spend the day at the arcades there, playing games and cashing in our tickets for prizes. I never saved enough tickets up to get a big prize, but we still always had a blast!

My favorite part of the Jersey Shore is where I live: Asbury Park! From the boardwalk and beach, to Paradise and The Asbury Hotel, to my favorite restaurant, Pascal & Sabine, Asbury has countless things to experience, eat, and enjoy. Plus, the city is in the midst of an incredible renaissance, and it has been so much fun to be a part of it. It’s going to be another great summer!
Dan Kulp – Vice President
Brunch with friends has become one of my favorite weekend activities and luckily for me, I live around a number of beach towns that all have amazing places to eat. One of my top picks is The Buttered Biscuit in Bradley Beach. I love that you can sit outside or inside, and the ambiance is great in either setting. Plus, you get to experience the cute shops in town. The staff is so friendly and the food is to die for, with a highlight on their biscuits – based on the name, they better be good! It’s a low-key and friendly place, and I always feel happy after going.

When my sisters, my cousins and I were all little, my grandma used to rent a house in Wildwood and we would all go down for the week. We only did it for a few years, but it was some of the best memories ever. Wildwood is still one of my favorite places to visit. Another favorite place is Sea Isle City where my uncle gets a house every year. There is an awesome tiki bar right off the beach that we love to go and just hang out.

My favorite place to go in the summer is Boon Docks Fishery and Grill in Marine Park in Red Bank. Going to their lobster special nights, sitting on the dock, and enjoying a cold one with friends is perfection.
MJ Thompson – Senior Manager, Digital Marketing & Design
The Bradley Beach boardwalk is one of my greatest Jersey Shore memories – the French fries, the taffy, and the ice cream, all delicious! The only thing better than the food is riding the waves and the smell of the ocean. It’s all about pure joy at Bradley Beach!
