A new year marks a fresh start and welcomes life changes, whether they are big or small. Each year most of us make resolutions to better ourselves, our communities, or the world. We asked members of our lotus823 team what their 2018 resolutions are and received inspiring responses that you can read below!
My resolution is to start eating healthier and cooking more, and to get back to the gym! I want to get back in shape for summer 2018; it’ll be here before we know it!
Dan Kulp | Vice President
My resolution is to try one new restaurant and one new recipe each month. This keeps you from falling to a rut and pushes you to try new things.
Nancy Kohlreiter | Chief Operating Officer
Spend more time on things that inspire and enlighten me, bringing more positivity into my life. When resting in bed at night and in the morning, I will reach for books for uplifting inspiration, such as poetry and books with positive messages, rather than reaching for my cell phone. My resolution for the new year is to begin and end each day with positive thoughts.
Allison Hernandez | Co-Founder and Managing Partner
My New Year’s resolution is to do more to give-back in our community. My goal is to at least once per quarter find an opportunity to give back to families less fortunate in our county.
David Hernandez | Co-Founder and Managing Partner
My resolution is to continue working on me – being more positive, growing my confidence, finding hobbies, and possibly getting a dog.
Beth Gard | Senior Manager, Client Relations and Operations
I would like to (start to) learn a new language. I took Spanish for a few year in my teens, but have forgotten a lot of it. I want to re-learn and retain.
Sam Lins | Senior Account Manager
Dedicate more time to the Friendship Circle, a wonderful organization for special needs kids. I’ve been a big advocate for years, but my participation in their swimming programs, in particular, has not been super consistent. My goal for 2018 is to step it up!
Rachel Litner | Chief Strategy Officer
My New Year’s resolution is to spend more time doing what makes me happy. I really enjoy practicing yoga and would love to try to dedicate myself to a more consistent practice, as well as try some new things like aerial yoga. I’d love to become a yoga instructor one day, so by dedicating myself to practice more, it would make me really happy to know I’m headed toward another goal of mine.
Melissa Hunt | Senior Digital Marketing Strategist
Of course, the usual getting back to eating well and working out regularly. I really want to be as compliant as possible for my next gym challenge and ease into summer with confidence. Secondly, I want to focus on myself and being the best me possible. I know it’s cliche, but now that I have hit a rhythm I want to start stepping outside my comfort zone and try new things and meet new people. Lastly, this one is more of a goal than a resolution, but as I approach my 30th birthday this year I want to buy a house. I can’t wait to have a true place of my own, and I hope that this time next year I will be hosting my family for the holidays.
Cait Coyle | Senior Account Manager
My New Year’s resolution is to bring dance back into my life. Even if it’s just once a week, my goal is to make it a priority to find time to do what I love most. Dance has been a part of my life for almost 20 years (since I was 3 years old!) so living without it since I graduated from my college dance team has been really difficult. In 2018, I plan to carry on my passion for dancing.
Olivia Munafo | Assistant Account Executive
My short-term resolution is to get in shape for my trip to the Florida Keys in March. I’m going to have to get beach body ready a little early this year. My long-term goal is to get back to drawing every day. I used to and it was really relaxing and cathartic for me. Also, I am drastically out of practice and have way too many empty sketchbooks just lying around in my room.
MJ Thompson | Senior Digital Marketing & Design Manager
My New Year’s resolution is to stress less about things outside of my control. I get very worried about the people in my life and I need to let go a little and let them figure things out on their own. I plan to accomplish this through a more consistent meditation practice and aromatherapy. Stress is one of the worst things for my body so it’s important I get it under control so it stops controlling me.
Amanda Erdmann | Digital Marketing & Operations Analyst
In 2018 I resolve to live a more active life! I plan to get into a routine of eating healthier, going to the gym a few times a week, and spending more time outside.
Kaitlin Crocilla | Account Coordinator
My 2018 resolution is to work on not taking everything so personally. Through this I hope to better my relationships with others and my outlook on life.
Samantha Barnwell | Assistant Account Executive
